"No one is more cherished in this world than someone who lightens the burden of another." A variety of volunteers opportunities are available. Using your skills gained during a lifetime to better our community and help Fairborn Senior Center provide its activities and services. We serve as a Retired Senior Volunteer (RSVP) program site. Areas of volunteer opportunities include but not limited to: Administrative Support Activity Leader Transportation

Publicity - Writes articles for local media, produces and distributes flyers 

Membership Involvement - call to invite members

 Crafts - making items for the Bazaar

Event Helpers - cashiers, kitchen help, decorators

Donor Solicitation - request donation of food and supplies for luncheons/dinners

 Entertainment - engaging entertainment

This Site is to inform you of our purpose, the supportive services, programs, and activities we provide to seniors. We provide a number of resources here to help you with resolving problems, providing educational programs, and fellowship. 

We invite you to become a part of the community working together to provide support and fellowship to senior citizens.

Homemaker Service "Helping to maintain a clean and safe home"

Homemakers provide light house cleaning, light meal preparation, errands, laundry, and organizing as needed. There is a fee but eligible individuals could be exempt from or pay a reduced fee. For more information please call: Darlene Matteson   878-4141 ext 218   

Out Reach "Providing personalized help to link you with the community resources to meet your needs or the needs of a loved one"

Care Coordination facilitates access to services, provides information about available social services, assists with organizing household finances, helps with medical insurance claims, provides escorts for essential shopping, banking and medical appointments, and offers errand services for groceries, prescriptions, etc. For more information please call: Nina Killingsworth, LSW   878-4141 ext.  215 or Karen Slattery , BSW   878-4141 ext. 214 or Connie Thompson 878-4141 ext.  314

 Transportation "Meeting the needs of senior citizens to medical facilities, social service agencies, shopping and the Senior Center"

Trained paid and volunteer drivers are used to operate the Senior Center vehicles. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday, except holidays, from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. There is a fee but eligible individuals could be exempt from, or pay a reduced fee. A wheelchair accessible van is available. Rides must be scheduled through one of our Transportation Coordinators. Three primary factors are considered when scheduling rides: medical necessity, disability and age. Appointments for non-medical trips will be provided on a space available. First time riders will need to fill out application forms.           

Tranportation is provide for: Medical Appointments, Social Service Agency Appointments, Local Merchants, and Fairborn Senior Center    

Who May participate: Any senior citizen, except those living in care facilities, age 60 or older who live in Fairborn or Bath Township or any Senior Center Member age 50-59 who live in Fairborn, Bath Township, or Enon. Contact: Jim Adams or David Matteson Jr. 878-4141  ext 216
