The Fairborn Senior Center in  Fairborn, Ohio 45324 - a Focal Point of Activities and Services to the Senior Adult, is located at 325 North Third Street, across from the Government Center. A big thank you to the City of Fairborn for replacing of our well used vehicle which had 141,430 miles on it. 

We appreciate this used/new vehicle 

that will help us in our mission.

to Help with Fundraisers

The Ways and Means Committee is seeking volunteers to improve our 

special event fundraising efforts.

Please review the following responsibilities or tasks

See if there is one that is a match for you.C

Contact Amy Barringer, at 878-4141 ext. 219 to volunteer today.

Publicity - writes articles for local media, produces and distributes flyers

Membership involvement - call to invite members

Bazaar Craft Coordinator - organizing craft making sessions and recruiting craft makers

Crafts - making items for the Bazaar

Event helpers - cashiers, kitchen help, decorators

Donor Solicitation - request donation of food and supplies for luncheons/dinners

Ticket Sales - sell tickets for events

Booth Leasing - selling booths to private vendors

Entertainment - engaging entertainment

What Does it Offer??

Specialty Groups

Support groups for clients and families needing education and counseling related to Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, Diabetes and Multiple Sclerosis.

History Club for those interested in learning about their ancestors and family histories.

Performance groups for entertaining including a barbershop quartet, Songsters, Fun Band, and Acting Troupe.

A Chance to Help Others

Volunteer opportunities to use skills gained during a lifetime to better our community and help Fairborn Senior Center provide it's programs.

Serves as a Retired Senior Volunteer (RSVP) program site.

Educational Programs

Discussions on various health topics and issues.

Defensive driving classes through AARP.

Programs on various topics of interest such as government benefits, estate planning, insurance, and retirement planning.

Classes for learning arts and crafts, card games, dances, etc.

Support Services

Information and referral services related to finding resources to meet various needs.

Locating the frail, isolated elderly and linking them with community resources to meet various needs.

Meeting the transportation needs of senior citizens to medical facilities, social service agencies, shopping, and the Senior Center.

The Homemaker service provides help, at a charge, with keeping your

home clean and safe thus promoting independent living for the elderly.

Assisting seniors with filing their tax returns.

Offering monthly blood pressure, hearing, vaccination clinics and annual health clinics.

Processing Golden Buckeye applications.

Fellowship Activities

Bingo, parties and card games, including euchre, bridge and pinochle!

Dance, including line and tap, and physical fitness for keeping in shape!

Entertainment groups!

Trips, both one day and overnight, economically priced and planned according to interest!

Special lunches and dinners open to all members of the community, ladies' luncheons, and potluck luncheons for seniors!

Arts and crafts, sewing, and quilting for fun, for sale, and for community service needs!

A place to "shoot the breeze!"

About the Senior Citizen's Association:

Mission: To provide a multipurpose senior center from which services and activities are provided on-site or by referral to meet the needs of senior citizens in the Metropolitan Fairborn Area.

A nonprofit social service organization.

Governed by a local, volunteer board of trustees.

Incorporated with the State of Ohio

Designated as a 501 c3 organization with the IRS.

Contracted with the Area Agency on Aging to provide Outreach and Transportation Services.

Receives grants from: United Way of Greater Dayton, Greene County Council on Aging, City of Fairborn, and Bath Township to provide Senior Center, Outreach, and Transportation Services.

Owns and operates the Fairborn Senior Center.
